Course Description
Completion of this program will prepare you to become a Dental Assistant in the State of Utah. A Dental Assistant performs the basic duties and responsibilities of administrative & chair-side dental assisting. They prepare restorative and specialty materials in a laboratory setting utilizing various techniques and specialty equipment. Dental Assistants practice office management skills, as well as collect and dispose of contaminated supplies. They prepare and sterilize instrumentation and other dental equipment, as well as practice infection control, prepare patients for care, answer phones, and prepare and process third party billing.

Certificate
Completion of this course certifies proficient dental assisting skills based on a score of 80% or higher on competency exams. A Certificate of Skill Competency is available upon request.

Tuition is based on the number of enrolled classroom hours. High school students are exempt from tuition, but are responsible for course and program fees and the cost of textbooks.
