- Progress: As of June 30, 2006
- During FY 2005 and FY 2006, the SLTATC has made targeted outreach efforts to the Hispanic community. Student demographic data for FY 2005 reflect strong representation in the SLTATC student population from the Hispanic community (22% compared to approximately 11% in the general population of the SLTATC service area). These results demonstrate the effectiveness of targeted outreach to underrepresented groups.
- The Multicultural Advisory Committee has representatives from many different community groups and organizations including Poder Para la Familia Hispana, the Asian Association of Utah, the Mexican Consulate, the Utah Department of Rehabilitation Services, the Utah Department of Workforce Services, the Governor’s Office of Asian Affairs, Questar Corporation, People Helping People, LDS Employment Services, and the Boy Scouts of America. Many committee members are also members of various ethnic minority populations including the Hispanic, Black, Asian and Pacific Islander communities. One goal of the Committee is to increase the participation of underrepresented groups in SLTATC programs and services.
